TEHRAN – Egypt’s ambassador to the United Nations has said that the improvement of ties between Tehran and Cairo will serve the interests of regional nations.  

It is necessary that Iran and Egypt increase the level of their diplomatic relations, Ambassador Majed Abdulaziz told IRNA in an interview published on Friday. 

The two countries are bounded by historical ties, he added. 

The great countries of Iran can have cooperation in various areas, including nuclear, energy, and security spheres, the Egyptian diplomat stated.
